Most Common Issues
If you are new to our classroom, follow these steps:
  1. Go to the classroom page, by clicking here, clicking the login button in the top right of the screen, or tying the url into your browser: www.wccginc.com/classroom/
  2. Click the "Register Here" button.
  3. Fill out the registration form. You will need a course activation code provided by your institution. After filling out form, click the "Register to Recieve Activation Email" button.
  4. Check your email for your activation email. If you don't revieve it in several minutes, be sure to check your spam or junk folders. Select the activation email and click the "Activate Your Account" link.
  5. You can now log into the classroom and take your course.
If you have an account with our classroom already, follow these steps:
  1. Log into your existing account.
  2. At the bottom of the page is a box that says "Add a Course." Enter your course activation code provided by your institution and click "Add Course"
  3. If successful, the message "Course added successfully. Click here to update course list or reload page" will appear. Click the given link or reload the page, and your new course will appear in your course list.
If while logging in you recieve the error "Wrong Username or Password," then one of the following is occuring:
  1. You do not have an account with us. Some people assume they can log in with their username/password for their institution or school. Our classroom is a seperate service and you must click the register button and register for an account.
  2. You are inputting the wrong password. If you can't remember your password, click the "Forgot Password?" link on the login page beneath the login/register buttons.
If while logging in you recieve the error "Your Account has not been Activated. Check your Email for instructions", then the following is occuring:
  1. You are registered and enrolled in a course and have been sent an activation email, but have not yet activated your account.
  2. Check your email for the activation email. If you do not recieve it within several minutes of registering, be sure to check your junk or spam folder
Activation emails are sent automatically and immediately. If you do not see it, please check your spam or junk folder. We recommend every insitution that uses our services specifically program their email systems so emails from us are never marked as spam, but whether this is done at all or done correctly is up to your institution's IT department.
If you did not recieve your password reset email, one of the following is occuring:
  1. You do not have an account with us. Please register for an account. Password reset emails are only sent if you have an account with us. The password reset form does not confirm the existence of an account. This is a security measure, as confirmation of accounts would an allow an attacker to narrow their attacks.
  2. Password reset emails are sent automatically and immediately. If you do not see it, please check your spam or junk folder. We recommend every insitution that uses our services specifically program their email systems so emails from us are never marked as spam, but whether this is done at all or done correctly is up to your institution's IT department.
Security
Our system has modern, industry leading security. All traffic is encrypted with SSL, passwords are stored with a modern encrypted and salted hash, multiple intrusion prevention systems and a web application firewall are in place, as well as many more security enhancements and optimizations.
If you are completely inactive for 60 minutes you will be logged out of the course. There are multiple reasons for this:
  1. Most of us never remember to click the log out link on a website.
  2. Many of our clients have shared computers, where multiple students use a single computer, such as a shared office or computer lab. This inactivity logout prevents a student from completing a course while logged in as someone else, or accidently accessing another user's private information.
  3. Additionally, this is a security feature. Invalidating old login credentials makes them much more difficult to hack or steal.
A common form of hacking a website is to have a computer program attempt to log in over and over again, trying every possible password combination. We have multiple systems in place to prevent this style of attack before it starts. Really good web security, however, is based on layering - having different layers of security, so even if your front line defenses - which should never fail - actually do fail, you have other lines of defense. In this case, if an attack were able to breach to the primary defense systems, this additional step of providing a challenge that is easy for humans but difficult for robots both makes the likelihood of an automated attack succeeding much lower and allows the attack to be detected.
